Homayd Natural Care Products

In 2010, my husband and I began an inexplicable journey to learn how to be more dependent on ourselves and less dependent on consumerism. We began learning how to garden, make food from scratch, make butter, raise chickens, blacksmith and make knives (his thing, not mine). Being a research geek, I dove head first into reading about many different facets of improving our health and well-being through traditional methods, instead of convenience methods. One of those facets was what goes into and onto our bodies. While we were tackling the "what goes into" issue with growing our own food and sourcing pastured meat from local farmers, I still hadn't given much thought to the "what goes ONTO" part. After reading about the ingredients in conventional products we used every day, I started reading labels. Once you become a label reader, you have a hard time going back. Ignorance may be bliss, but it can be a very harmful bliss.

In 2013, we unexpectedly became pregnant with our first child. Talk about incentive! As my nesting instinct took over, I started purging our home of chemical cleaners and conventional body products. Most importantly, I learned how to make soap. Fast forward, and now my passion for clean, pure, detergent-free body products has also become my means of staying home to raise our children.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28
